Collection & Delivery
If you are a school or college located within
the North East area and you are subscribed to out
Fleet Maintenance Service, then collection and
delivery is free of charge. There is also no
need to package your laptops ready for collection as
we collect them ourselves.
If you are a domestic customer or are a
school/college located outside of the North East
area then we can provide insured collection & delivery of
your laptop for a fee of £19. Collection can
be made same day at your chosen collection address.
If you prefer to send the item yourself, please
ensure that you take out adequate insurance as we
cannot be held responsible for any damage caused
during transit.
What to send with your laptop Please remember that our goal is to get your laptop back to you as quickly as possible. With that in mind, here are a few recommendations on what to send with your laptop to avoid delays:
- Ensure your battery and adapter are packed with the laptop
- If available, be sure to include your restore software CD [this is a CD that came with your laptop and will have the laptop Manufacturer's name (Sony, Toshiba, etc.) on the label.
- Include extra items only if they are related to the problem with your laptop
Using the right box
Please make sure that you choose a box that will get your laptop to us safely. A few recommendations when selecting the right box:
- Always use a corrugated cardboard box
- Make sure that the box is at least two inches (2") bigger on all four sides of the notebook
- Make sure that the box is at least six inches (6") taller than the height of the notebook
Using the right packaging material
When selecting the packing material, please remember that the better material you use the more likely that your laptop will be delivered to us un-damaged
- Never use newspaper as packaging material
- Whenever possible, wrap your laptop in at least three inches (3") of thick bubble wrap
- If bubble wrap is not available, use foam peanuts
- Make sure that any accessories are also properly packaged to avoid contact with your laptop
Packaging Steps
- Place the laptop in a plastic bag
- Place a layer of at least three inches (3") of foam peanuts on the bottom of the box
- Place the laptop on top of the foam peanuts, laying it centred in the box
- Place another three inches (3") of foam peanuts / bubble wrap on top of the laptop, keeping the laptop "suspended" in the middle of the box
